M & M Trouser Pattern 101

Gentle drawstring trouser with side pockets and a false fly, cut to sit on the waist. Features 3 versions – cropped & tapered trouser, wide straight trouser or shorts.

All seam allowances are 1.5cm unless otherwise stated.

Skill level - beginner.

Fabric suggestions - linen, linen blends, tencel, tencel/linen, 3-5oz denim, cotton chambray, Indian handweaves, very fine wool or corduroy.  Vineyard Knitworks carries a limited inventory of cotton and linen fabrics -- check them out.

*Please note M & M has now changed pattern printers. Our patterns are now printed within Europe, the pattern paper is 70gsm white (FSC® certified) and is made only 180km away from the printers. The instructions now come in booklet format rather than A3 sheets. The paper is PEFC/01-31-126 certified.

Pattern errata:

On the old, printed pattern the pocket linings A and B were incorrectly numbered. Piece 5 should be called Piece 6. The larger of the pocket bag pieces is referred to as piece 5 in the instructions.

When constructing the pockets; piece 7 (the pocket facing) is attached to piece 6 (the smaller of the two pocket bags). These are then sewn to piece 5.
